The Client
Ennis
Knupp, a Chicago investment research firm, provides analysis
and recommendations to institutional investors. Their complex information
matrix is the heart of the firm. Easy access, secure storage and
reliable retrieval of this information is all important. IQ Group,
an IT consulting firm based in Philadelphia and the client's primary
contact, hired Earl's Towing.com to assist with architecting the
more complex parts of the application.
What They Wanted
- A web-based
knowledge management system.
- An application
to aggregate, secure, and track changes to their manager research
data.
What We Provided
Working with
Philadelphia's IQ Group, EarlsTowing.com analyzed business goals
and designed the technical framework. Our senior web architect worked
with the Ennis Knupp project lead, the IQ Group account manager,
graphic and interactive design teams, and a third-party database
developer in creating the final design.
Deliverables
included a high-level object model and entity relationship diagram,
documentation on Site Server and IIS configurations, and prototype
implementations.
Technologies
We Employed
- Microsoft
Windows DNA technology
- Windows
NT 4.0
- Internet
Information Server
- SQL Server

- Site
Server 3.0
The design relied
heavily on Microsoft Transaction Server COM objects to marshal data
between the user interface and the data store. Microsoft Site Server
manages security and personalization. Extensible Markup Language
(XML) is used throughout the system.
What's Next?
IQ Group completed
the Ennis Knupp Manager Research System based on Earl's Towing.com's
